A Reflection - Carsten Jacek (SITD) [EN]
Carsten Jacek is a German musician from Bochum. He is the singer and frontman of the dark electro band [:SITD:], which was founded in 1996. Their latest eighth studio album "Stunde X" was published and released through Infacted Recordings.
From the mid 80’s until today I am a big The Cure fan and collector.
As I was 13 years old I've bought the ‘Head On The Door’ album, which was recommended by a close friend. A year later the ‘Standing On The Beach / Staring At The Sea’ album was released including all the great stuff from 1978 - 1985. Immediately I got addicted to the dark atmosphere of their songs and I started to collect their releases.
Morever ‘A Forest’ was a huge club hit in my local disco Zeche Bochum in the eighties. Every Saturday night I met my friends there to party. We listened and danced to all that unforgettable songs from artists like The Cure, Joy Division, New Order, Depeche Mode, Anne Clark or The Smiths.
In 2002, it was a beautiful summer night in July, I had the great honor to play together with The Cure at the Zillo Festival at the Airport Hahn / Hunsrück in Germany. In the same year our song “Snuff Machinery” was released on the “Snuff EP” through Accession Records. It was our first official release on a record label. We’ve performed with [:SITD:] at the ‘Zillo Newcomer Contest’ stage and The Cure played a wonderful set on the mainstage. I will never forget this night.
I am accompanied by The Cure my whole life. Robert’s incomparable lyrics and diversified songs helped carry me through the ups and downs of life.
